It’s easy to play the influence game for Pittsburgh band Same. At times, they sound like listening to the Pixies or Pavement in a meditative trance. At other times, it feels like Weezer dripping in acid and fuzz. Their sound is one marked by rich reverb, bursts of jangly slacker-pop precision, and a keen ear for experimentation. Same met each other during their college years in the early 2010s while attending shows in the Western Pennsylvania punk scene and formally came together around 2015, putting out a series of EPs leading up to their 2020 debut full-length, ‘Plastic Western’ released on Southern California label Lauren Records. 
 
Same recently retreated to the Poconos–once again enlisting the help of Matt Schimelfenig at The Bunk to complete their next album.
