CODEnsemble - sea2on: Trio

CODEnsemble continues its second season, sea2on, with the concert Trio, which follows up on the opening program Solo/Duo. After presenting solo and duo formations, the ensemble’s program shifts to trio configurations and the more nuanced interplay between the clarinet, violin, cello, and piano.

The concert program features works by Robert Kolář, Petr Javorka, Marián Lejava, and Milan Paľo. The individual compositions explore various forms of chamber music communication—from concentrated sonic gestures, through a more static passage of time, to a more expressive layering of musical material. A common feature of the program is an emphasis on detail, the tension between instruments, and the search for a space in which contemporary music becomes an intense chamber dialogue.

The program also includes a composition by Robert Kolář—Pantomimes I–IV for violin and clarinet—which creates a dramaturgical link between the concerts of the sea2on season and will be performed again in Bratislava. The concert thus expands on the theme of the entire season: to present Slovak and Central European contemporary music performed by prominent figures of the chamber music scene.
