1. Soenda is a techno institution 

Festivals come and go, but Soenda has remained a mainstay on the Utrecht - and national - festival calendar. Any festival with a run of 16 years (and counting) is clearly doing something right, and Soenda’s built a deserved reputation as a solid contributor to the festival circuit. 

…Not to mention, a must-attend for everyone from techno-nuts to newcomers on the scene.

2. The 2024 edition is bigger than ever

In its most colossal edition yet in the history of the festival, Soenda is expecting around 25,000 attendees this year; and they’re en route to selling out completely. In other words, FOMO is a real, tangible risk – and not one you want to take in 2024. Trust us on this one.

3. New stages and major revamps

We’re going to have to introduce sub-reasons here, because the stage switch-ups for 2024 are dizzyingly good.  First up: the mainstage, Java is getting an overhaul and a brand new location with plenty of space made for maximum euphoria.

On top of this, the labyrinthine greatness of tunnel stage Komodo is stretching into new lengths, with even more space for crowds to revel in, with a closing set from the formidable DYEN.

There’s also newness in the shape of the Timor stage, a brand new space dedicated to uplifting vibes, eurodance dreaminess and ultra-nostalgia.

Add all the above to the groove fest on offer at Soembawa, plus authentic house curation over at the Lombok, and we’ve got a home run on our hands. 

4.  A line-up of over 30 artists… 

Bigger stages = even bigger lineups, and Soenda’s outdone itself with a 30 plus-strong lineup across its 5 distinct spaces, pulling in local and international talent to bring the heat. At the Java stage, get ready for Anetha, whose reputation for delivering incendiary sets precedes her along with relentless energy from Somewhen, ensuring the momentum never wanes. KOMODO will showcase techno greatness from the inimitable Tommy Holohan and Cynthia Spiering (who’ll be debuting a live set), and, of course, that big closer from DYEN.

SOEMBAWA boasts an ensemble with maestro Benny Rodrigues, whose grooves are as refined as they are ravishing, and Franky Rizardo, whose uplifting house anthems are poised to keep spirits soaring. And at TIMOR, Dana Montana's vibrant soundscapes pave the way for exhilaration, alongside Supergloss, who are prepared to dip the crowd into their infectious rhythms.

Completing the lineup, LOMBOK welcomes the electric Elias Mazian, ready to take the crowd through a musical odyssey, and the innovative Merve, who is guaranteed to keep the audience on their toes with her genre-defying selection.

Along with a seriously satisfying array of individual sets, Soenda 2024 also whips up a selection of tasty b2bs, including some pretty stunning world exclusives. Certain previous Soenda Alumni are set to return in 2024, but partnered up for new sonic alliances.

Expect explosive synergies from pairs like Dax J and SPFDJ, Paula Temple & SNTS, Hadone & Nene H; Azyr & LESSSSS; Charlie Sparks & Parfait; and Marie Montexier & Partok.

6. An incredible setting 

Taking place at Ruigenhoekse Polder, Soenda is an escape within the city of Utrecht’s reach, and its open-air lakeside landscape means partiers can look forward to thumping basslines and the calm waterside vibes – the best of both worlds.
